As a child growing up in the USSR, Pavel Asanov had an early eye for entrepreneurship. To earn pocket money, he as a ten year old, would sell fish from his home’s aquarium at the local flea market. When his school was first outfitted with Apple 2 computers, Asanov delved into the new introduction of computer technology and bought his own Sinclair Spectrum computer at the same flea market where he had previously peddled his fish. Struck by this newfound passion for technology and propelled by his opportunistic nature, Pavel began building and selling Sinclair Spectrum computers. 

Even before he graduated with a degree in electronic engineering, he co-launched his first company – a computer integration and distribution business that focused on microprocessor technology. After moving from Uzbekistan to the U.S in 2000 because of political instability, he established his business in the states.

As an avid fitness fanatic with an active lifestyle (Asanov's favorite hobby is deep water diving), he was frustrated with the limitations that working professionals have in trying to find time in their schedules to work out.

Ten years later whilst on a business trip in Miami, Asanov was struck with the idea for PlayFitness.
